ellesse Team Up With Cult 70’s Brand Smiley For Capsule Collection
Renowned Italian sports fashion brand ellesse and 70s rave cult brand Smiley, have come together for a festival season essentials collaboration. The capsule collection offers staple styles for men and women that fuse together ellesse’s sportswear designs with Smiley’s counter-culture heritage for SS20.
Celebrating each brands history within the sub-cultures of the music and nightlife scenes, the collection utilises the traditional bold colourways of past decades. The collection demonstrates the colourful flair and track-ready tailoring of ellesse heritage, re-energised with innovative fabrics, colours and silhouettes that nod to the vibrant spirit of Smiley.
This is a collaboration that fuses the positive ethos, flair and vibrance of two iconic brands. A range of fabrics such as reflective 4M, PVC and mesh are introduced throughout the collection. Whilst a colour palette of hot pink, sunshine yellow, orange, white and black are highlighted accents across tracksuits, boob tubes and cycling shorts.
Fit for the festival season, the collection comprises of 21 pieces for women and a smaller capsule collection for men. Hero pieces include a transparent poncho, iridescent shell suit and a range of co-ords that run through both the men’s and women’s collection. A range of accessories including bum bags, caps, and bucket hats are also available. Finishing the pieces is a dual logo which uses ellesse’s ‘semi palla’ shape with the traditional Smiley face icon – a symbol that has been recognised and represent throughout music movements of past decades and culture.
